Foam rockers?
Just bought a 98 Cherokee off some guy a few months ago. He said instead of replacing the rockers he just filled them with foam and painted them black.. I wanna redo them and put some actual rockers on- what's the best way to get all that foam out?

Depends on what kind of foam, some solvents will dissolve it.
If youre replacing the rockers youre going to have to cut all the factory sheet metal out and re weld new sheet metal in, dress the welds, seam sealer, prime and paint. After you get all the spot welds drilled out and the sheet metal cut apart you should have pretty easy access to the foam the previous owner filled them up with.
Will look like this after the old rockers are removed. (not my pic, I wouldnt drink that crap beer)

Sweet thanks!
On both rockers about half of the foam is still covered by sheet metal, but the other half foam is completely visible. I should've taken a picture- I was able to just rip a bunch of it out with some pliers haha. Shouldn't be too hard just very annoying

People should really inspect before buying. Friend was parting out an XJ that he got from someone that did the same thing. Jack stands went through the uniframe rails on the trailer rot was so bad

Damn that sucks. I knew the rockers were foam when I bought it but the rest of the jeep was almost rust free. Great frame for only $800, couldn't pass it up
