First time climbing
lol everyone ragging on the guy because hes new. As if you were never new eh? Born on Pirate4x4 with your 54" tires on your Buggy were you? Thought not.
To the OP:
Get with a club man, they'll help you out finding some trails with some seriously bigger hills than that. And because you'll have guys around you that are knowledgeable you can always ask if it'll cause any damage and if so what kind. I remember my first time out on this tiny little trail by my house. I thought it was so scary, then I realized that was the road TO the trail and I hit that a month later. Just keep pushing and you'll keep improving and your comfort level will grow.
Just remember this thread in years to come, apparently some of these guys dont remember that same pucker you got from climbing 2 foot tall rock ledges.

A lot of the kids on the forum don't understand this and end up breaking stuff they can't afford to fix properly, or breaking their only ride to work/school, whatever.

I remember the first time I took my jeep out on a trail. I hung for a while but at the end of the night my inexperience landed me rolled over in a rut. wish I had waited until I was ready to do trails like that. woulda saved me a lot of headache

I have two favorite moments about when I first got into this...
The first was the test drive when I bought the 93 Country which is now a trail Jeep. I drove it about 3 miles down the road, pulled in some abandoned lot, shifted into 4wd and tried to drive straight up a near vertical bank. It went straight up with barely any effort. (I just wanted to make sure 4wd worked.) I had had other 4wds before but they were fancy pants auto 4wd stuff that didn't feel the same. The fact that this little thing worked that well amazed me at the time.
The second was after my first modification. I put a lock-rite in the Dana 30. I was AMAZED at the difference... Awesome feeling.

This post brings back cool memories.
I remember going down this dirt road the first year I had my Jeep.
I was loving it, drove for close to an hour then got to a rut on the road. I got out, walked over it and was to affraid to go thrue cause I was alone and had no gear (not even a high lift). so I turned around.
About 10 years later, Im leading a group of about 10 jeeps (half of them where stock, mine had grown 3 inches) down the same trail. I saw the rut then I remembered 10 years before how it scared me. It was so insignificant in comparaison now from then even if it was a little deeper.
I went true and the few newbees just followed effortlessly. I fellt pretty stupid for having turned around before but that's what its all about? isn't it?
23 years later and still going strong (same jeep) now it has grown to 6.5" and custom built rear coils and front long arms on 34's. now for me to turn around, it has to be pretty bad.

) I'd have gone the entire run lol and ya its my only vehicle. he as it looks has a much more capable rig than mine and he went up a small slope.. if anything he could have had thicker skin and made a joke about why such a small hill instead of getting butthurt.
