Limited all the way. Loaded, leather, and one color all over the exterior.
Bit of trivia: I recently ripped the carpet out of my Limited & was planning to replace it with some decent carpet from a clunker Sport. Turns out the Limited carpet is much heavier in weight, composition & quality than the Sport. Heavy duty backing & longer, thicker fibers. I am pretty surprised. Needless to say, I'm keeping my original carpet ...

Old thread, but thanks for another vote ^^ for the Limited.
2 things have happened since I last posted in this thread to make me realize that maybe a lot of guys are not really familiar with some aspects of the trim levels.
1) I posted an interior pic of my XJ and a few people commented about the seats & how nice they are. Thought they were aftermarket or ZJ seats. But they're stock Limited seats, look great & very, very comfortable.
2) Another guy posted a link to an ebay ad asking someone to verify if the seats for sale were actually XJ seats, as he had never seen those before. They were (again) XJ Limited seats. I think the Country & Brairwood also have the same or very similar seats. Plush leather. My Limited seats are way better & more comfy than the seats from my old Pioneer.

I like the Waggy, the Chief (I see one around town here, thing is awesome), Laredo, then SE/base model (like everyone said, less electrical crap to fail)

i really like my sport, altho a limited would have been nice then i dont have to worry about faded black trim. a sun roof would have been nice aswell. is the up country a trim package? idk but i want that one too, that seemed to come with best stuff over the years.

Out of the ones listed, I'd have to go Chief. Those things were awesome with the d44 underneath. But, I'd actually take the one trim you didn't list - Freedom concept from '90 (I'm assuming the OP meant the 2000 Freedom edition in the list). VERY rare (only 300 made I think), but all the good stuff of a 2 door, plus a bikini top. They're kinda weird looking, but still awesome!
