Sorry if this isn't in the right section.

I'm confused about the details of this exhaust pipe connector. The specs are:

"Exhaust Pipe Connector, 2.25 in. ID To 2.25 in. OD, Length 12 in., Aluminized"

Does that mean:

1). The connector has one end with an ID of 2.25 and the other end has an OD of 2.25?

or

2) One end has an ID of 2.25 and the other end will slide inside of a 2.25" pipe?

I can't really tell if the one end reduces or not from the pic.

My exhaust broke off right in front of the muffler. I was hoping to find a piece of pipe that will slide inside of the muffler and inside of the remaining pipe. I would cut off the end of the adapter with the ID of 2.25"

Muffler inlets and outlets are measured ID. Exhaust pipe is measured OD. So the 2.25" OD should go inside the muffler and the 2.25" ID should slip over your broken exhaust pipe.
