Re-build and supercharge it. Thats what I would do...I love 4.0L's.

Engine swaps get complicated if you want to run fuel injection.......superchargers just bolt on.

Super Stroker.

I actually just found a used kit on here for 1500 bucks for sale, and it came with a fiber glass cowl hood that had a scoop above the SC location. Look around all sites before spending your money. $1500 for a kit and then purchasing a 400 dollar aftermarket fuel management unit would be a tad cheaper, a lot easier (physically, not mentally), and net you a little more than the stroker (and stroker builds all depend on how you build them). The Avenger, what I lucked out on getting, can be installed inside of two days. Really it can be done in a day. But then you have to tune it, and that might be a turnoff for some.

WIth a stroker you don't really need to have it tuned, and if you ARE going to it's best to get a piggy back unit instead of having the ECU reprogrammed as if you ever take it to a dealership there is a chance they can reset it back to stock, wiping your tune and requiring you to get it redone. You just need to put in 24lb injectors, and I recommend new 02's and a Bosch (never, ever buy an Airtex) fuel pump.

The supercharger requires more electrical work and tuning (soldering), and when bought brand new is way more expensive.

A stroker can be built for cheaper. It'll take a bit longer and require a lot of work and purchasing lots of small end items, but it will always be cheaper than boosting. Unless you find a deal.

Ironically I lucked out on the deal and I already have a stroker. 3rd time award stroker.

Also, stroke it to 4.6. If you ever have to rebuild it for any reason that requires another 4.7, going beyond 4.7 might require you to get another block, or run the chance of overheating/cracking a cylinder. Food for thought.

You have to remember that you're living in The People's Republic of California and that will limit what you are able to do to a street driven vehicle. It has to be smog legal.
