Nice cherokee...I'd like to have it but what it looks like to me is that someone had deep pockets...And who in there right mind puts D-rings on a damn 8.8 for recovery??????

 

Oh, my bad. I guess I skimmed a little too fast. Somehow I got that it hadn't been offroad at all.

 

im guessing they are trailer tie down points.

 

The guy could have just taken really good care of his XJ. If you're a good driver offroad, you can wheel without putting scratches in your rig . I have a friend who's dad has a really nice lifted pickup and he wheels it. The thing is still in nice condition too. He just takes care of it, drives it carefully on the trails, and washes it regularly to prevent any rust.

 

Wow, LOTS of good stuff on that thing. I agree though, just 'cuz it's nice looking doesn't mean it's never been offroad. I try to keep mine good looking and like to have it all clean and shiny every now and then. I have a couple scrapes, but nothing that can't be buffed out. But, I do wheel mine pretty hard IMO. I'm just careful. It's my DD so I only go as hard as I feel comfortable going with it. I don't have a ton of money so I can't be putting a bunch into parts and all, so again, I hit the trails hard and have a ton of fun, but I'm smart when I do it. Personally, the people that say "Full throttle or None" are idiots just asking to break stuff. Being a smart offroad driver means doing the tough stuff but letting your rig survive it too.

 

If that rig is used on the trail
where are all the dings and scratches?
AT LEAST scratches.... that thing is to clean.
Look at the engine, spotless
The interior , spotless
Not to mention all of the suspension parts
and axles are not even marked up 1 bit.
Still is a nice jeep tho
Minus those freaky tail light guards
that actually block the trail lights lol

I'm sure since he's trying to sell the XJ, he probably washed it and cleaned it up to make it look good. Some people get scared if they see mud in the engine bay or in the interior. I know I wouldn't buy an XJ that had mud all over the place and tons of scratches and dents on the body. That means that it COULD have been abused at some point in it's life and I wouldn't take the risk in buying something that I'd have to sink money into.... You just have to look at it from a consumer's perspective, that's all.

 

Even worse if that thing was trailered to the trail....

 

What's wrong with being trailered? You don't have to worry about fixing it to get it home.

 

My thoughts exactly. He's probably spent so much cash on it that he had to take care of his investment by not smashing it up on the trails. Very nice looking machine but I'd rather build my own than buy one already done. Takes all the fun out of it.

 

I just hink that if you dump $35,000 or whatever you put into a project that you should drive and enjoy it. Not make it a trailer queen...Thats like trailering around a vintage muscle car and driving it only at car shows. I think its a waste....IMO

 

Mines a dd but the closest rock crawling is hrs away so mine becomes a trailer queen then. If it wasn't I might not make it home. If I just go muddin and trail rides (local) then its on the pavement their and home. Nothing wrong with a clean rig that can sit on a trailer now and then. Tmo

I dont think it looks to bad. Not liking that rear tail light guard crap but the rest looks nice.
I dont see how it cost 35K thou. Unless he bout it almost new and is adding the price he paid for it to his total.
