EBAY bumpers front winch and rear 380 shipped?
I saw on ebay today some company selling xj bumpers front and rear for 380.00 shipped. Has anyone bought these? I can't post pics because it says its copyrighted. They look o.k. very basic. Go on ebay and search xj bumpers and take a look.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me, but like you said, they're about as basic as you could get, but from their specs sound like pretty stout bumpers and they're top rated sellers on ebay so...., up to you man, definitely got me thinking about getting a set for mine now, lol.

I dont think the front one is a winch bumper. They look pretty basic. Ive never heard of them before.

They are very basic but i just want something to put my winch on and a rear bumper that can be used for recovery. I am thinking about trying them. Maybe in a few months i will buy, I just don't want to buy a crappy product.

There is a link to the same bumper with the winch mount. You could get that and the rear separately for like $425, but I would still keep looking. That winch mount does not look as stout as I would like to see.
Also, they utilize only one steering box bolt. When getting a front winch bumper, it is a good idea to kill two birds and get one that has long mounts that use 6 bolts per side. This will stiffen your steering box mounting, which is nice.

1/8" steel is not what you want... you want atleast 3/16" steel if not 1/4" steel.
Also i would keep looking as their mounting brackets are only 4 bolts you want alteast 6 if you plan to use the front as a recovery point.
For the back, you would want something that also incorporates the nut strip for mounting.
In general, if you go to the local steel yard and get some steel yourself to make them it would only be like $150 in steel and $50 in powder coating. and you could make them alot tougher! also they only offer direct front and rear protection, no side protection

The brackets are 3/16 but the rest is 1/8in. You cant put a winch on that or pull from it .You will rip it off .Get one of these. They are $379 from Logans metal products.

I see what you are saying. I can weld and fab. I stopped by a local metal spot today and i can get a 10 foot section of 3x4 steel for 80 bucks. I can do both bumpers out of that. And make them the way i want. Thanks for the help guys.
