Dual Battery Placement
Alright, I'm wanting to add a dual battery system to my XJ, and I know that the safest place to keep it would be under the hood. Where can I put it, I'm not seeing any room and was wondering if anyone's done this and what location they chose? I have a K&N CAI that leads to where the former air filter box was located, and unfortunately that's the only place I could see it going. I haven't ruled out running a snorkel, but if I do, is there a way to incorporate an air filter into the snorkel system without using the OEM air filter box? Everything I've found regarding a snorkel system involves keeping the existing air filter housing, and well, that's long gone since I've upgraded to the K&N. I'd like to purchase a snorkel, which rules out some jerry-rigged PVC monstrosity since I don't trust that possibility. I'm open to any thoughts regarding this and pics if anyone has successfully installed a secondary battery under the hood. Thanks guys.

battery
I plow 400 driveways (long ones) a winter
We used to have dual batteries but after I found the Sears Platinum, we no longer need duals.
For 3 seasons this awesome battery has been the solution.
Once $170,.. now prepare to pay $200
10year warranty

I agree with this post, I used to run dual battery's on a plow truck, and then I heard about upgrading to a better battery, bigger alternator, bigger gauge wire from the batteries to the alternator. If you do this you will have all the power you will ever need, dual batteries are needed for diesels because of starting drain on the battery but not for any other application in my opinion.
Also if you are running any lights or other things use relays, make a huge difference

Awesome, thanks guys. I'd like to run dual bats so that I could run an inverter for some off sight power while camping, or escaping, lol...
If I purchased a small solar panel for trickle charging while not running the truck (which I've seen a cool application for on this forum) would the single battery still be best, or do you think duals would be best for that use?
