Maine just made texting while driving illegal. GREAT move!

Im all for freedom, but if youre exercising that freedom to do something as stupid and dangerous as texting while driving, there needs to be a law against it.

$100 fine isnt going to stop anyone. This trend of drivers texting and driving is going to continue regardless of laws.
Some laws people refuse to obey... especially traffic laws. I dont come to complete stops on right turns, dont wear my seatbelt, dont obey most posted speed limits, and I will switch plates between trailers.
Just because its a law, doesnt mean squat. If people think they can get away with it they will try.

Ive only behind one person I suspected of OUI... guy was all over the road at 11 at night.... I followed him home, and went on my way.

Buzzed driving isnt legally drunk driving.

What he said. I've had way too many close calls with family and friends drinking and driving, it's not worth it. But in the woods on private property is another thing in my opinion. Wheeling is a lot more interesting with a couple confidence sodas.

I hope you use the DD method cuz after the trail you still need to get home and that is drunk driving. I enjoy my adult beverages too but there is a time and a place and even while on the trail its not good cuz if you get hurt becuase of it (judgement impaired) then whomever is with you has to step up for you.

It happens when were camping at the hammers or somewhere so you don't have to drive home. Driving on the highway drunk isn't cool

Same here. You can drink at the camp/picnic sites but not behind the wheel. Much like here, we're a family oriented group.

i'm all for a couple of wobbly pops but not in my Rig. 2 DUI's have taught me a lesson well learned from my younger days.

i grew up where if you ran into a snow bank you stayed their till the neighbor or state trooper drove by an pulled you out threatening he'ld tell you old man if they caught you again. get a DD and call it done.
