used them when system was mt but when charged i couldnt get them plugged on quik enuf, lost freon trying to wiggle them on. gave up and returned them. no check valve either. hard to deal with for me a newcomer.
btw the tubing disconnect tools didnt work either, too thichk i think.
a utube video showed a cut off HOSE CLAMP ring and it worked great!!.
just cut off the screw and trim to size needed!
the cheep little air powered vac pump did the job, i kept it, $18!

The problem I found with the HF gauge set is that the O-rings in the connectors are garbage. I wound up replacing them in short order. The connectors have manually operated valves - you connect them to the AC system with the valves turned off, then turn them on to use the gauges. Other than that I've found them to work OK.
I have not had to deal with the pipe disconnects yet. Do you have a link to that youtube video?

Harbor freight branded items rarely get the job done and are often not worth the coin..
Hose clamp ring, gatorade bottle, old credit card, Bic pen, with modification they all can work for hose disconnects.
Nujeepguy, did you get forums mixed up? Perhaps the hummer forum has your Jeep avatar.

HF stuff is hit or miss. Like going to a gambling casino.
I bought a HF fuel pressure gauge a while ago that leaked to hi heaven.
Looked up the reviews and sure enough the biggest complaint is leaking. Bad design.
When i get time or when i need it again, i'll re-engineer it.
I recently bought one of their battery impact wrench tools. Man that thing worked better than expected when rotating my tires.
And their battery drills paid for themselves over the years.

Really didn't need the FP gauge for trouble shooting purposes, the reason i took a chance on a cheap HF gauge.
Was just curious to see what the fuel pressure was.
Now a long forgotten project.

I have had one of those for 15+ years. It has never let me down and still does not leak to this day. Shoot, even the paint looks decent after all those years outside. Cant say the same for the tin snips I bought from them. Pretty much broke in half cutting paper.

HF stuff needs to be looked at like this:
Buy it, expect it to work one time for what you need it for. If it lasts longer than that, bonus.
HF stuff is definitely hit or miss. Do your due diligence. I have some HF stuff I swear by, and other stuff not so much, LOL
