After 2 years of driving the 2wd Cherokee, I've finally got a 4wd donor vehicle parked in my driveway. It's a '94 2-door with the NP231 and a Chrysler 8.25 rear axle. The body is riddled with rust, the doors are barely hanging on, the brakes are totally shot, and there is something not quite right in the suspension/steering. But at 120k miles, it runs strong and the 4wd works beautifully. Had to use it to pull her up onto the flatbed, spun all 4 tires








Plans as of current are to keep driving the 2wd and start stripping the '94. Going to replace the seals on the Dana 30 front axle, paint it up. Same with the rear, may install a powertrax locker or two, not sure. The transfer case is getting a SYE and a quick going over. The transmission will get cleaned up as well, and any maintenance it needs taken care of. I plan on using the engine from the '94 to keep my down-time to a minimum, but since I'll have it out and it needs a rear main and valve cover gasket, I'm going to go ahead and rebuild it. Thinking 4.6L stroker, but I need to do more research on that.

Once the 4wd components and engine are in the '93 2wd, I'll lift her 3-4 inches, slap 31s under it, and start adding armor and recovery points. Really looking forward to making her a capable off-roader with decent on-road manners!
