Default Do you worry about gear theft?

So I see a lot of guys with awesome rigs here. Some of you keep gear on your rig 24/7 it seems.
So do u worry about people tampering with or stealing anything?
Spare tire, Jerry cans, jacks, axe, shovel or even your cb antenna.....

Have u been vandalized?

Just getting ideas together as to whether or not gear should b locked on to your rig......

I leave my doors unlocked most the time and when it's warm I don't have the doors on unless it's going to rain. I've never had issues, though it's pretty obvious if you look at my Jeep for more than a second that I carry guns and people tend to mess with your **** less.

I've got an ammo can I converted into a lockbox that's bolted in in the rear for little stuff when the doors are off.

But, I also live in a safe area and it's pretty rare I'm more than 5 miles from my place.

What will a gun do against someone stealing your stuff in the middle of the night? Know your surroundings and don't leave tools in plain sight. I've been living in a city full of crime for over a year and haven't had any issues

No one has ever touched my stuff. But I would keep everything hidden anyway. It's a plus to have a factory cargo hider in the back

I have about $400 in tools alone in my jeep at all times. And I usually never lock it. Right now I got like $650 worth of jeep parts, tools, and lift in the back seat. If someone steals it, well maybe they needed it worse than me

Thieves tend to go for easy targets. If they see a car sitting in a driveway at night with obvious gun stickers on it and one next to it in a neighbors driveway without them odds are they're going for the less risky target.

Now we are talking about gun stickers lol? I'm sure if someone is desperate enough they will steal for you.

I have a lock on my hi lift jack but I know no one will ever try to steal it I mean its a $40 jack mounted on a roof rack so if someone spends the time to un mount it I guess they needed it more than I did.

Yep I agree. First thing thieves look for is content inside the Jeep. Rarely take or waste the time to look at stickers.

Well I never meant that being able to keep a gun in my jeep would deter someone from going in it. I was just saying I wish I could carry here like I did in va.

I guess when I get around to outfitting my rig with accessories I'll b sure to strap them down and be able to lock them in. Just in case.

my rig doesnt have doors (wont fit back on because of body damage) and my keys are stuck in the ignition I leave a bunch of trail crap/tools/parts in there but nothing of value. no sweet stereo in my jeep. no one has messed with it for the months it's been this way

it's all about luck and good karma eh

there is no crime in Canada lol

i was just commenting on that he carries not that it will help me if someone is stealing from me.
i have been looking into getting a truck bed box like from a ranger about 54 inches wide and have the front lock and put ti close up against the hatch and have the hatch locked so i can leave my tools and other trail things i carry at all times with no doors. it just gives me better sense of security when i am out and not around the jeep
