Do you only wave to XJs?

So far, I think I've gotten three waves in 8-9 months. Guess I'm not part of the cool kid crowd.

My arm would fall off if I waved at every lifted truck here. i live in NC so it's literally every 5th car is a lifted truck.

Yeah there's definantly a difference between people who drive there jeep because they love it and appericiate other jeeps (the ones who wave back) and then the people who drive jeeps simply as means of transportation.. Sometimes even if they are modded (the ones who look at you crazy). My friend at school has a stock xj and one day he drove up with a surco rack on top. I go up and say "nice rack man where'd you find it?" he says "oh my dad got it installed for our extra camping gear". Got it installed.. He's one of the ones that will look at you like your crazy.
I'm new to the jeep thing but I love it already. 3 days in and no waves at all, when I do it, I get the (huh) look. The folks around here need to either pay more attention and get with the jeep thing or trade in there jeeps and get a smart car. Just my opinion!

There's a lot of tools who drive jeeps, unfortunately. They all tend to be the frat bros who think everyone else is beneath them, even though daddy is paying their car payment, gas, insurance, tuition, rent, list goes on. Those are the kind of people you wave at and they look at you as if you aren't worthy of their wave back.
Hell, most 4-door JKs are just owned by people who think they look cool and are just now getting into Jeeps. I even got a wave from a guy in one today. Nice to know someone knows what's going on...

If Cherokees were strictly off-road/military in nature I might wave seeing a kindred soul in the mountains..But around here half the XJs are just moms going grocery shopping or yuppies on their way to the stock firm so why bother? I guess if my XJ was lifted and all I'd wave at other people with lifted off-road type rigs because then at least you have something in common.
I do always stop and chat with people I see pulling parts off XJs at the junkyard though.
