i wouldn't mind if it was a cute girl posing, but now i think maybe i was just freakin out cuz my house was just broken into. I was all paranoid when this happened and i kind of came at that dude pretty aggressively, thinking back he was big dude too. Kinda strange thinking about it now him stuttering like that. I guess i'm not alone in this though. Bottom line: I don't touch other people's cars/trucks/jeeps even if they look really cool.

I haven't seen anything with the current jeep, but my other cars had many stalkers and ppl that would touch them. Would drive me nutty!!! on my 04 Subi WRX ppl always had to lean on the fenders which would make me go balistic. those were very prone to getting damaged just from someone leaning on them. And now that I think about it someone did that to my 04 tiburon and it did damage. As for if anyone did mess with my current XJ it's got an alarm/remotestart on it, so that would just go off. yes it's a 94, but i had the system sitting around and it wasn't a big deal to install. LOL

Alot of people like to see how soft the rubber compound is, typically with a finger nail to try and gauge tire wear rate compared to their own tires etc.
I wouldn't think much about that.

LOL! Well not on my XJ.., yet.., but it has happened to me in the past with my '79 Cherokee Model 17. For several years in a row, on my birthday, I would drive down to this 100 yard by 300 yard wide asphalted parking lot where one could park to view over a large body of water with a glacier within view, (half a mile away), feeding it. I'd park in the very middle, at water's edge, with a hundred and a half yards to either side. My German Sheppard Dog, and I, with plenty of eats, and fluids would just sit in my vehicle for the several hours admiring nature, yet I'd have my tape cassette playing some Grateful Dead, or some such genre, and for some reason others would park elsewheres but end up walking up to my vehicle and paying absolutely no attention to the fact that my critter and I even existed.., let alone giving any clue as to be even cognisant to the music playing. FIRST TIME, a dozen tourists from Asia park in a rental van, 50 yards behind me, (remember, it's a big lot), walk up to my vehicle, half dozen to a side, end up in a semi-circle of twelve standing around in that arc from front tire to tire, with their backs facing me and my dog, leaning on the Jeep using elbows, hands, etc., on my hood, using my Cherokee as a prop.., in order to have a few 35mm photos taken of their happy faces. Hmmm.., then they leave, get back in their van and head back to Los Anchorditch. SECOND TIME, two guys park about where the Asians did, walk up with some first generation video equipment; a battery pack the size of a suitcase that one carried, along with a tri-pod, whilst the other toted the camera. They set up exactly in front of me, like the Asians and began to video the far off glacier for about five minutes, (not much in the way of changes with the scenery on that overcast day) but they taped what they taped, re-packed their equipment, and then split.., and like the Asians, never even attempted to make eye contact. THIRD TIME, a mother with her adult daughter, and her friend pull up next to me in a Jaguar sedan, and hung out, never seemingly acknowleging my existance.., lol, until they could not get a re-start.., their story short I ended up 'roping' them 5 miles to a gas station/mech shop with my "******'em-Strap". FOURTH TIME, now remember.., I parked as I usually did in the past, i.e., up front and centered.., and a van of Bikers, without their bikes, pull up on my left, concurrently, a van of Nuns pull up on my right.., at the same time! Bikers are not looking at me, my dog, or the Nuns. The Nuns are not looking at me, my dog, nor the Bikers. Me, my dog are looking at everyone, enjoying nature, enjoying the eats; dog bisquits for him, and the cheese, salami, olives, red wine for me.., the usual fare btw, and then they leave. Me.., I left too, and have never gone back for a Fifth time.
Elsewheres.., I went into a coffee shop, got a to-go-cup, got back in my Jeep, and some dude walks along, and without even looking, or seeing that I was sitting inside the Jeep(17), he hopped up on the passenger side hood, above the wheel well, in order to sit there to wait for someone to come out of the shop. Been there, done that, lol, so I leaned on the horn.., and he acted bothered, i.e., as if what right did I have to disturb him so. Hmmmm...
I live in a woodsy area, and there is this sign.., "Trespassers will be shot--survivors will be shot again", but the idiots keep coming. One must be very, very careful.
Seriously, I do believe 1/3 of the population has been going crazy.., like the country song, "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy".

Whenever I work on my Jeep in Auto Shop, the ENTIRE class gathers around it. I tell them to go away because I can't get work done with a million people crowding me, and they don't listen. They start touching it, looking at some of the mods I've been doing, one of them even got inside my Jeep once! I told him to get the F**k out. Now I have to lock my doors when I go in there. Not to mention the time I was working on installing some new fog lights and one of the girls in the class saw the teacher walk by so she went and unscrewed my radiator cap to make it look like she was doing something for participation points. She never tightened it so I lost all my coolant on the way home, overheated, cracked my heater control valve, and had a $65 bill to pay! She called me a p***k after I asked her if she could help pay for it. What a B****! Yeah I probably have the worst "people touching your jeep" stories hahahaha
