Okay I always assumed that I had a Dana 35 rear end but now after joining this thread I started seeing it could be a 8.25 and if there's anyway to know for sure it would help, it's a 2000 sport

 

Looks like the 8.25 to me. Most. Xjs if they have ABS they will have the 35

 

You have the 8.25 they are the ones to have IMO. 29 splines!

In My Opinion... IMO

You have a good set of axles there for some 31's... Too bad yours doesnt have the HP30 up front like mine.. Just be sure to keep you fluids topped off and they will last forever!

 

Yeah I run 31s on 15 soft 8s and rides beautifully, and I got the dana30 up front, I went as big and bad as I could will being able to take it 70 on highway and then take it through the trail without regearing and swapping axles, but all that'll come when the money does lol
