I know there have been threads about this before and i know both are good tires but, I can get either (set of 4) mounted and lifetime balanced for around $740 (31x10.5 R15). They are going on my DD but the thing is I only drive a lot in the summer because I usually don't need to drive a whole lot (besides beer and Mcdonalds runs) when I'm away at school. However, it does ice up and snow considerably where I live (Western Illinois). I only go off road a handful of times each year and its usually just in the mud but I do love to play in the snow too. I also have to drive 160 miles to or from school several times a year.
I think I would be fine with either tire but some things that concern me are gas mileage and longevity as I am a college student and money is not currently plentiful.
Please let me know what y'all think. No need to post any other forum links because I think I've read them all.
Thanks!

Duratracs. I have personal experience with both tires and the coopers wear quickly on pavement and cup really bad. Duratracs are more all terrain/street friendly and incredible in the snow
EDIT: The coopers are in no way a bad tire, I just believe that the Goodyears would suit you better.

Go with the Goodyears, they will last a bit longer on the street and in most cases it's easier to find a Goodyear dealer than a Cooper dealer if you have any issues.

I have owned both tires, both 33x12.50x15s. For what you are doing I would recommend Duratracs. IMO the coopers with their 3 ply side wall and more aggresive tread did better for me off road. Rocks, mud and trail riding. The Goodyears are OUTSTANDING in snow and ice. The coopers are good but not near as good as the Duratracs. The 2 ply sidewall on the GY is thinner than you might think. Coopers better off road. Goodyear better in snow and ice. Both drove well on road and wore well.
I'd have to say for what you're looking for goodyear all the way. I can personally say they will far outlast the coopers. The coopers are a little better trail tire but the goodyears will easily get the job done.

I got my Dura's right as they came out. I have had them for 3 years and 50k miles... I need to get new ones now but even with 30% tread left they pull me through almost anything that i have put them in. BUY THEM! They are quite possibly the best AT off road tires that have every been made.
