Default Bad day for my Jeep...

I wanted to check for rust so I pulled the rubber side trim on the doors, pulled the fender flares and bumpers and have been working on painting things for the last two weeks. I got the bumpers done this last weekend and the sides painted. I still have some wet sanding and buffing to do to finish the sides before I remount the flares. I was almost done....

Until I got rear ended today as I was pulling away from a red light intersection , guess I wasn't accelerating fast enough for the woman behind me. To add insult to injury, she decided to try and run for it after I pulled off to the side and was expecting her to do the same. Fortunately, the Jeep had more power than her POS and I caught and pulled her over about 1/2 mile away down a side street. One other lucky thing, I still had my trailer hitch installed after hauling some things this weekend. She must have floored it from the dead stop at the light. My hitch punched a hole though her front bumper and crunched her grill, but she still had enough momentum to crush my steel rear bumper. I can't get the hatch open now. Fun times
