they had a similar article about the dodge 2500 a few years ago.. like stated before its not the vehicle as much as it is the suspension design and peoples lack of maintaining it. all this is going to do is eventually dive all auto makers to move to IFS

I've seen lots of Ford F-250 4X4s have death wobble issues right off the showroom floor. The Ford recommended fix? Install a new steering dampner and adjust the air in the front tires. It doesn't fix it.

How many people do you know that actually grease ball joints and knuckles?
I don't know anybody except my dad, grandpa and buddies.
Most people put vehicle maintenance low on their things to do list.

Exactly, I bet 75% of people out there wont replace a part or do maintenance on their vehicle until it breaks. People don't understand preventative maintenance and then when everything breaks at once on their car they blame the car maker and say "(Insert auto maker name here) makes crappy vehicles don't buy them" then you get the people who are all don't buy dodge or don't buy ford or don't buy Toyota... well that last one isn't true nobody would ever say that about Toyota lol

Lol!
I tell you what, it took me 10 years to get my wife trained on telling when the oil needs to be changed. We worked separate shifts so it was hard for me to stay on top of it well.
She used to go 10,000 miles or more on crap oil and whatever filter was on sale. When I would get to change it, it was nasty nasty black and always had flake in it. When I would say I need to change the oil at such and such time it was like I was taking her car away and not giving it back.
It takes 20 minutes to do including set and cleanup, there is no reason why people don't do these things.
This went on for about 70,000 miles and it's still running amazingly well. Doesn't burn or drip any oil at all! It is a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder 3.0 V-6 with almost 200k on it now.
I guess most people don't enjoy doing these things though.

Reading things like that makes me love my XJ more and more. Once I replaced all the tie rod ends and steering damper, she's been a joy to drive.
I ran across some railroad tracks today (a little faster than I should have)that were so rough, I think I actually got air for a split second because the whole vehicle shifted a few inches to the right...........not even a hint of DW.
