Red face Death Wobble

so my xj is lifted 4.5 with 31 tires on it, NO drop pitman arm, and NO adj track bar, i dont know if thats the reason or not but when im doing anything over like 40 mph and hit a certain bump it rattles like crazy until i slow it down to about 20.

if the road is smooth i can drive as fast as i want and it drives like a champ but the bumps make it go crazy, can this be fixed???

It is all of those things causing the DW.

oh what fun DW is. I had it because i hit a fairly large pothole going thru a puddle (woops) i had 3" RC and 1.75" daystar, so 4.75" total lift. Bought it like that, and it had stock trackbar, no drop pitman arm, stock control arms. It rode fine untill the pothole and ended up swapping control arms, adjustable track bar, tie rod ends, and wheel bearings, and steering stabilizer. Nothing at all seemed bad/loose from the 5 of us that looked at it.

Not pushing you towards one company or another because theres a lot of great aftermarket companies out there, but i got motor mounts, upper and lower control arms, and trackbar from Ironman4x4fab and havent had one single problem. Everything is beefy and solid and his prices are great.

On the drop pitman arm, i was told by Andy at iron4x4fab to go to the junkyard and pull one off of a ZJ and they are a 1" drop from a stock XJ one. After reading up a bit on it, it is infact a 1" drop and direct bolt on.

Hope this helps you out.
