Compressor sends air to the axles (per switch) to lock it. That switch simply turns the compressor on.

so are we talking JUST a push button that turns it on? or do you have to put the key in, turn it, then push the button? cuz that on newer cars just seems pointless to me

In my mind (don't hold me to this one) you flip a few switches to turn on the ignition and all that good stuff that normally turning the key would do, then you have a toggle flipper that you hold down to start, and release....with like red cover over it...pretty much a mix between nascar and nuclear warfare

No pictures because I'm in the middle of rewiring my roof lights, but I had the wires running to the switch that I duct taped to the top of the dash. Worked flawlessly, very clean look. Nahh just kidding it looked terrible but i'm more for functionality

I made mine out of 16 gauge sheet metal and gutted the ashtray to mount it in there. I painted it to match my xj and had to make tiny cables (kinda like a trucks tailgate) because i had to cut off the original stop. The great thing about this is now i can just close it at night so the L.E.D.s don't blind me.
