So seems how his is about FABRICATION i believe it belongs in the fab section.....
Has anyone made mounts for their hi lift jack? I am looking into this for the roof rack i start next week and cant justify spending $50 on aluminum mounts only because " Hi-Lift" is written on them. So.... let's see some pics of these custom, homemade mounts and ones specifically for roof racks! Thanks guys.

I don't have any close up pictures, but I used some spare d44 ubolts I had laying around, they fit perfectly around the cross rails and hold the hi lift on nice and tight.

Okay. I thought about making a bracket in the same shape as the actual hi lift one but out of thin plate instead of milled aluminum. Anyone done something like this?

considering the hi-lift jack only gets used during wheeling trips .... i was think of taking this approch :
installing this mounting bracket (link below) to my rear bumper & only attaching the jack when going wheeling :: that way its out of the elements and at same time not taking up space in the jeep.. what do you think about this idea ?

I like that mount a lot sand wanted to build or buy something like that considering its cheaper than the actual hi lift one. I would just remove mine but i use it quiet it bit now that i have one for use around the house or working on the jeep or Samurai to get it one jack stands so i like to always have it with me

just realized a hi-lift jack will fit perfectly under the rear seat .. i think i may just scratch the whole mount idea . whats better than out of the elements and out of sight , imo.

Thats what I have done and it is perfect. I had to remove the head from the beam and smack the center section with a hammer to be able to close the seat.
