Go to the dealership with the VIN, I recall someone on here saying something about them having to notify the dealership or the DMV when the odometer is changed. If you're in a bind and can't do a carfax I'm sure you can find a dealership somewhere. Good luck with the purchase, post some pics of your new found love.

 

CARFAX sucks anyway. They use to imply you could find out anything about a car on their site. At least now in their ads they are honest and say.."Find out about accidents, mileage, etc REPORTED TO CARFAX" That's the key phrase because pretty much no one reports anything to CARFAX. Just for fun I've run a number of cars thru the site which I knew had been in wrecks or where I purposely put mileage in which was WAY below what the odometer said and CARFAX never reported the wrecks or found any problem with the milage.

 

yea ive heard them to not be too reliable, but hey, its better then nothing! and yes its on craigslist, its an orange cherokee.

thanks!!! yea im oging to go look at it today, it does have about 220k, but no rust, starts and drives great, and new bearings water pump rad condenser brakes gas tank, talked him down to $1500. ill post pics if i get it later

if it is the jeep in my thread im telling you right now that it had a lot of rust. I WAS the previous owner of that jeep.

The floors were rotted, the rockers were rotted and so was the rear quarter. He said he fixed all of it since I gave him the panels to do so. It has 220K on it but the odometer is wrong because it was replaced. The lift and tires are about 7 years old and I should probably have the original receipts for them. But if you want it, this info is just for your knowledge.
