If you've already fixed everything, what's the problem?

I'd hate to get rid of it, since I've replaced almost everything. But I don't feel like I can keep up with the thing, since it's constantly breaking something. The sad part is..I barely get to wheel it.

I'm kinda torn on what to do, I love my Jeep..yet I hate the thing haha!
I think a 95 Honda Civic would be more to your mehcanical capabilities. You should be able to handle, and afford, fixing that.

Some men were just born XJ owners.

The Merc isn't much of a problem, just not really my fancy. I got it on a trade for an ATV. I'm trying to sell it to get a more practical DD for my location.

As for repairs, I've replaced basically ALL of the suspension components w/ the lift. And have also changed out the motor, and now another transmission haha! Basically, it's just frustrating wondering what's gonna break next!

As far as a Honda...I'd rather eat toxic paint chips than own one of them.

I'm very mechanically inclined, just gets frustrating when major components break without warning or much reason!

That's why most people here would buy an XJ that is in better shape overall and start swapping out parts. Then either sell the old one, part it out, or scrap it to recoup some of your money. I have an 01 with 173000 on it. Just started the process of giving it some altitude. I know that if push came to shove, I'd still own a jeep any day of the week over most other things. Except a ford raptor.....but I'm sure I'd still keep my jeep!

The point is, you have a lot of money tied up in this one and it would be smarter to find a donor for part swapping.

I'm just speculating, but maybe there's too much bass in your bassboost. The vibrations could be loosening up all of the torque specs for everything in your XJ. It would make complete sense since everything fails regardless of fixing it.

Have you tried turning off your sound system for a month to see if it runs fine without it. ?

I'm thinking I'm gonna look for a better condition one to try and pick up, meaning sell the Merc and get one.

As far as the name "bassboost", I don't have a system in my Jeep haha! It's just a username I've had on numerous forums for years, didn't wanna think of a new name!
