hi guys, I’m considering buying a 2000 Cherokee classic, I’ve been searching for one in this good of condishion for a wile but the price seems high. I’ll post the ad details and pictures below and tell me what you think. Asking price is 8900$ CAD

“2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic. Rust free and is in incredible shape! 91,000 ORIGINAL kilometres! 3 inch skyjacker lift, full leaf packs. Flow master 40 muffler. Rugged ridge weather tech floor mats. Brand new 30 inch General Grabber AT2 tires. Front sway bar quick disconnects. PIAA lights on front grill. Always kept clean, never seen mud! This is a very rare Jeep for the year! Reason for selling is that I'm going to school and in need of a car. $8900 OBO.

First off WELCOME.

Before you consider price inquire as to whether the 0331 head cracking issue has been taken care of.

Can't help but notice the rear roof rack bar is missing? Should have two, maybe they took it off?

i spoke with the owner he said he hasn’t had any issues with the head nor does he know of any previous problems. What do you recommend for a replacement head?

The thing is there may be no problem now but they are prone to failing. Here is a link that has a lot of good info.

If 8900$ CAD is $3500.00 USD it's probably fair.
It's a Jeep Cherokee neither rare nor classic.

conversion is about $7100 US

KBB and Nada put it around $6000

so it is high but not obscene for being rust free with new tires and only 55K miles

Check again:
KBB private sale, 55k, excellent condition, $4020.00 USD.
Caveat emptor.
The year, repaint and fresh undercoating are definite warning signs.

warning signs for sure but if it is just a well taken care of Jeep and is in the condishion he says it’s in what’s your thoughts on the price. Also I live in eastern Canada it’s rare to find one up here with low kilometres and zero rust, I know the blue book is significantly less but I’ve looked at jeeps online all across Canada and the price seems on the high end but not outrages.

I love XJ's and that one is very handsome. However, I think the asking price is way too high.

It looks to me like the guy is trying to recover his investment in parts and time... and that's just not how this works.
