I just went from a 3in spacer to 3in coils.

To be truthful I liked the 3in spacers a lot better.

Now THIS is good input. First-hand experience is always better than "I know a guy who..." Did you like it better because of the ride quality? What kind of off-roading do you do? Thanks man.

Pretty gnarly off roading. Nothing high speed though.

The ride quality went to heck with the full coils. Also I noticed I am close to coil bind with the 3in coils on full compression. With the spacers I never came close to binding.

The 3in coils actually gave me 3/4 in more lift than the spacers. Which did not really matter because I had enough clearance with my narrow 32's anyways. But this way I will put the spacers on my dads xj. He doesn't want a full 3in of lift.

Unless a person wants a solid 3inches. I see no good reason to go to full 3in coils.

I have had the spacers for about a year. Never a problem at all. Still rode like a soccer mom suv.

Yeah I'd call that gnarly for sure. Thanks for the info dude, I'm thinking just a spacer is probably gonna be my ideal option. Any input on LCAs? Looking into WJ ones right now.

Wj ones look better. I just adjusted my stock lca's all the way out. 1/2" wheel spacers on stock backspacing keeps the 32's free and clear from rubbing lca's.

If you're really that strapped for cash, and you break something on the trail... well... yeah. I'm assuming this is your only vehicle as well.
But do whatever you want man.

I have two motorcycles, plus a girlfriend with her car. Riding in the winter can suck but I've got the gear to do it, as long as the roads aren't icy I can suck it up. Stuff can break anywhere. I've been off road a lot since getting my Jeep and the only real problem I've had is my water pump went out while driving to my GF's house. I guess if I'm strapped for cash I should limit myself to no fun and just not drive since my Jeep could have issues at any time, on or off road

Not sure why 3 inch spacers, aal, or blocks would really make anything more prone to breaking. Elaborate a bit more on your personal experience from having to fix stuff related to coil spacers, aal, and blocks.. I can see a block breaking and causing havoc, but not aal or coil spacer....

On another note, 3 inch spacers are definately the MAX i would consider for a spacer, I wouldnt want over a 2 inch myself.
I run full 4.5" coils and im happy with them (RE).

Sure thing bud. Aal i really dont mind. I dont like blocks. Ive had a block fly into my windsheild shattering it. They are dangerous imo. I agree with your coils spacer point. I have 2 inch spacers waiting to go on but im going to a full coil instead. Ive seen them fall out on the trail (narley trail). Just dont like them. 2 inch max imo. 3 inch spacers is just retarted. I can elaborate more if yoh want when i get to computer. I hate typing on this pos droid. And cave man.......Lol

Just curious how spacers could fall out on the trail when the bumpstops and support extend down almost a foot?

And you know i was just razzing you in the previous post.
