First step is to get affiliated with U4wda , Blue Ribbon Collation, and Get involved with the BLM
Second step. Start small with a good group of guys.
Third create by laws Like no illegal wheeling , must attend x amount of meetings and wheeling trips , trail cleanups. Offroad saftey classes.
Basically it gets really political someone always leaves the meeting pissy.
I tried it it was great when were were a small club under 15 people then it got big people started allowing people to join instead of vote them in after attending several meetings and wheeling with them. The **** hit the fan and I said f this . So I Joined a well established club. I got sick of the attitude of the Rich guys with 20-30k in their rigs talking down to guys with 4-5k in theirs. So I left that club also.
Now I just wheel with a group of guys on JF that I am friends with so I don't have any bs

X2 clubs are very hard to start. Like tom said, start with a few good buddies of yours (3-5 people) and sit down and go over everything. such as club name, purpose, what you would require to be a club member (2 doors only, XJs only, jeeps only, etc.) , rules as far as how you want your club to be presented at meets, shows, etc.
Also, don't make the club too specific or it will end shortly.
I am part of a club back in Long Island NY that is called "NSM" or New School Muscle. They are a great bunch of guys, the club was started by 3 guys that go to every event. Their restriction is your vehicle must be from an american car manufacturer, and must be a muscle car (e.g.: a ford mustang is good; a ford fiesta is not allowed). They have no fee to join, but sell stickers, hoodies, hats, etc.
Lastly, you need to have a forum. But your own forum. Don't try and use CF as your clubs forum, the mods may not like that, idk you would have to check with them. ( I know there is a section in the forums for certain areas, but they all aren't necessarily clubs, per se. They're locals finding out who's in the area so parts can be sold/ swapped and/ or meets can be arranged for road trips, events, etc.).
If you need any more info or advice, don't hesitate to ask.

Well I have a group. 5 avid wheelers together, we also have an off road park that offered their land as a home base.
We are hoping to build up an interest for wheeling and truck/jeep building in our area.
