I'm gonna have to do something like this; but with a black window blind (ikea maybe).

But the Spice color interior in my XJ is fairly hard to come by in the JY and I don't want to hack up my factory panels and end up not liking it.

Might wait until I do find some replacement panels before I mod mine

Reviving an old post but I too am looking for a factory rear cargo cover preferably in sand or tan as well as the hardware to mount it. If anyone out there has one laying around I’d love to buy it from you.

Thanks!

I figured I'd shoot my shot...

Anyone have one of these factory cargo covers lying around that they don't want? I'd buy it from you...

I've been checking junk yards and online market places (craigs, fb, letgo, etc) whenever I see a Pre-1997 XJ come up and have had no success. The aftermarket ones are kind of expensive and are all RHD so even if one is bought it would need to be modified to work with my LHD 91 XJ

Please let me know if anyone can offer assistance!

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm not really looking for assistance converting an aftermarket cover cause from what I've found they are pretty expensive. Not looking to spend $100+ on something I have to put work into.

My cherokee already has the mounts/brackets in place for the cover, but being almost 30 years old and originally owned in Washington state and then New Mexico, and now I have it in Massachusetts, the previous 2 owners did not keep track of where the cover ended up.

I would prefer a grey one as that is what the rest of the interior is, but if the price is right I might take a tan one if I can't find another soon.

If anyone else has one, definitely reply or message me, thanks!

Guessing you are talking about the skid strip #6. Out of my '91 to '93 parts catalog.

Sure you are looking for #6?
Cause that is behind the interior plastic.
#4 is screwed into it on the outside of the interior plastic.
Don't think you will find any new. Part # is 55025592.
I got mine from the boneyard.

Thanks. I have #4. Do all vehicles have #6 inside? And all it takes is to screw #4 in?

Only vehicles that came with the cargo cover have it under there.
Least pretty sure that is all that does.
It is just a support for #4. Sheet metal/self tapping type screws go through #4 from the outside go into #6
Plastic probably would not hold #4 in all by itself.
Maybe some machine screws, screwed in from the outside, and some washers a nuts on the inside might hold it.
It is just a piece of metal. Probably make one if you could not find one.
