Very few cars ever go up in value with age.
As such, don't expect it to go up at all.

Now the other side of the coin, some cars flatten out and Cherokees seem to be in that
range.
So say a 1990 model today that is nice and clean might be at say $1800 to $2200 if it was maintained and still clean in 10 years I would expect it to be the same.
Lift kits and mods seem to increase the value to the owners that installed them, but in reality do little to enhance the value of the Jeep.
Myself personally I might pay few hundred more for a lifted right XJ, I would not expect it just because I know that AAL kits require spring replacement down the road and things like death wobble are more of an issue with lifted XJ's then stock ones too.
Tires and rims will do more to increase the resale but never recoup the actual cost of the upgrades so don't spend a bunch thinking its the silver bullet to make your XJ worth 2x what everyone other one in town is worth.
