I have a 1997 VW Eurovan Transporter with a 2.4 L Diesel no Turbo,
I was thinking to put that engine in my Jeep. The bellhousing is not a probleme for me i can figer that out but im worry about installing my 4.0 flexplate on my 2.4 If some one have any idea let me know.

Depending on where you live registration and certainly emissions testing will be a problem. Check with your local DMV before you start.

Most flexplates are weighted for the engines balance so mixing the two might not be a bright idea.As far as the swap you will have to make your own motor mounts wiring the engine to the jeep might be a pain.Making a adapter for the engine to the trans and maybe having a custom flexplate made for it.Having a new torque converter made because diesel and gas engines use way different stall speeds. Then you have the fuel system the plumbing and the exhaust to mess with next. And if you move the trans at all new drive shafts will be added on the list also.If your heat set on a diesel jeep look in to buying a yj or tj both of those you can swap in a 4bt or the 1.9/20 tdi vw diesel.

2.4 eh? That's the 5 cyl AAB right?

I am not sure if they use a similar flywheel to the later engines. Aftermarket seems to like the BEW engines for some reason so adapters are around. Though they're mainly for the AX-15 Jeep flywheel.

Engine swap with an AW-4 is another challenge with the PCM itegration.

You might try Coty Built or HPA Motorsports for some tips. Head on over to http://forums.tdiclub.com someone should know about that engine there.
