Default Cherokee 4.0 Milage

I just installed a K&N air filter and augered out the airbox intake so I was sure there was no restriction. My first milage check showed a 3 MPG increase at 60 mph highway driving. Now getting 23 with stock tires, stock rear end gears and an auto trans. I'm happy.

My 2000 Cherokee Classic with 235/70 16 Pirelli tires, Up Country suspension, 110,000 miles, got 22 to 23 mpg Interstate driving (AZ mountains) at 65 mph with A/C on. It has K+N air filter and the best Bosch Fusion Iridium spark plugs. The Up Country suspension is about 1" higher than stock.

I just went to 31" MT/R tires and 2" lift kit. Under the same conditions, I'm getting 19.3 mpg. That is accurate with 4.2% odometer correction.

have you guys noticed drastic reduction in gas mileage with the 30" tires compared to stock tires?

If so, what are the numbers?

Just took her on the first long trip with the new home made Cold Air.

Total Travel Estimates: Time: 1 hour 9 minutes Distance: 56.54 miles one way. So multiply by TWO and she drank a 1/4 tank.

NO A/C burnin on the way there BUT HAD TO HAVE the A/C on for the trip back..

Is this good mileage?

You have to divide the # of miles driven by the # of gallons used to get the "average" MPG. Time/amount she drank have no bearing on MPG

are you claiming I am stupid?

I am simply having conversation and asked a simple question.

I KNOW how to figure out the mileage, I have those details
written down when I filled up today, I will figure the mileage
on next fill up.

With my Xj on 31's, stock gears and no mods to the motor I get between 20 and 22 on the freeway loaded with camping gear.

Alot better than the 6mpg I was getting with my ZJ.

You can't go by the gas guage. Often the only levels they're accurate for are full and empty.

How much did you bore out the air box hole, I just installed a K&N filter and need to get a little more air inside the box.
