Cb Radio antenna noise
Hey guys,
I have a fiberglass cb antenna mounted to the rear-driver side of my jeep and it makes it sound like my bearing is going!
Anyone else have this issue/ solutions?

Not when the cb is on. It's just when I'm driving the antenna cutting thru the air is making noise

I can't hear mine over the radio and exhaust... but I can imagine it would make some noise cutting though the air. Only way to get rid of it.... mount it low, close to the body on the back of the XJ, of course this will hurt your CB's performance as any forward signal will be blocked by the XJ.

Well it's already on the back. And it's sticking out the side. Im gonna try and mount it on the other side

By back I meant behind the XJ... if it is on the side at all it will make the noise.. I bet with it on the passenger side you might not be able to hear it.

I gotcha. I'd have to find a mount like that. I was going to try and put it on the passenger side first *thumbsup*

Don't use fiberglass, use metal. And use a mount that has a spring because it will absorb some of the force from the wind.

Not sure what difference between Metal and Fiberglass... I didn't think about the spring though. I assumed that you had one, so I didn't think to mention it.

Radio Shack or a truck stop that sells CB equipment.
I would try the spring first, it may quiet it down enough that you don't have to move it.

Length depends on a lot of factors (like where you use it, how it's mounted, etc etc) but it doesn't need to be super fancy. Mine is around 3.5-4ft and personally i think it's a little long. Try and get one that sits up over the roof a touch. Doesn't have to be too high over it, a few inches will work.
