I have heard some mixed rumors about cb antennas having to be at least eight feet apart if you are running duals. Is this true or no?

depends on the CB antenna, im running dual full length whips and mine are only about 6ft apart and they're handling pretty darn good

alot of people will say it also depends on the CB itself too, basically just run what you like and adjust from there... doesn't seem like its coming/sending out very clear you may be a little close or even still when you have extra CB coax instead of making a pile of loose wire your supposed to put it in loops of 12" diameter.... there's alot of technicals when it comes to setting them up but if your intent is trail use (like only feet/yards away from each other) then run it how you want. If your going for distance (like highway "reaching out" miles and miles) then follow the book

This may be true... but it can be difficult to get them 8' apart when the vehicle is only 6' wide. Get them as far a part as you can and go from there..
