can i bondo these floor grooves?
i have an idea and need some advice, a while ago i had some fire/water damage to my carpet and want to replace it with something like..... BEDLINER. so my idea is to fill all these wavy strength marks in the floor with bondo, smoothing it out, and bedlinering it, would it work??? ive never used bondo before so i apologize if i sound crazy

yeah, don't bondo it smooth.
you would need to remove all the paint down to bare metal in and around all the grooves. then to just bed line it? waste of time and not necessary.
just rough it up with a green scotch brite pad or anything really, and bed line it.

if you have the right air power tools it wouldnt be too bad to cover up some of the grooves
but if youve never used/mixed bondo I wouldnt recommend it either.
if you just want it to look like the grooves are gone you can cover them up
I plan on glueing some plastic diamond plating over it like in the passenger seat and backseat floors

is there any other way to get it to look nice and flat, just seems like it would look kinda ugly, its not really a big deal, but if theres any thing else i can do to make it look better im all up for it.

I added roll on liner to mine and then after it dried I added sound deadening liner, dynamat from here.

kinda smoothed out the floor and helped with heat and noise.

Looks to me like the seats will be covering most of the grooves anyway

I just run some low cost carpet sections, tossed in 4, deadens the sound, helps against cold, just pull and blast clean at the car wash to remove mud and the mess the dog made. As stated above, bondo will not last.

yeah, bondo would just crack.
bed line it and use rubber floor mats. just to help cut down the heat. i sometimes use 4 or 5. lol. it gets freakin hot. but i haven't bed lined it.
maybe if you use line x, that stuff is thick. it might help with the heat.

ive thought about putting carpet back in, then the next time i sink it in a hole i gota take it all out again, i think im just going to throw some line-x on it and call it good, also need to cover up all the wires running along the sides... its not my daily driver anymore so im not to worried about road noise since it will probly be trailered most places

If you decide to go the dynomat way don't cheap out and get the 80 bucks a roll stuff on eBay. Buy the good stuff because the cheap stuff will slip out of place if it gets to hot.. Also it would cost a lot to dynomat your whole truck .. I bed linered my whole interior!
