cam and Crank questions?
Ok i was thinkin about buildin a 4.5 stroker...but then i got to thinkin maybe a cam and a 4.2L crank and rods would suffice...
would this really make a difference?
Or should i just do a HO head, intake, header 62mm throttle body and 703 injectors?
Im just tryin to get a little more out of my renix motor for a descent price and less of a headache...
any thoughts????

a 4.5 stroker is a stock bore 4.0 with 4.2 crank and rods... I run the 703 injectors on my 97 4.0 with the 99 intake, apn header, flowmaster muffler, and a comp extreme4x4 cam, it's definately got a bit more torque than my buddy's stock 98. The HO head conversion on a renix has been done, and I would consider it a worthwile upgrade. Actually been thinking about buying an old renix xj to do just that, lol.
If you do get into building a stroker... you need to look into figuring out your compression ratio because this will effect what fuel you can run. Even a cam will change your compression ratio...

the compression ratio will be 9.05:1!
ok if the head upgrade is good then how do i get the HO throttle body wired up to the renix system? and if i put the 99+ intake which fuel rail should i use and should i do a fuel line swap with it??
theres alot of things different with the renix system and i hate it! lOl
I really just wish someone would buy my jeep or trade me for a stock 91+ lOl but oh well! lol thanks for the info

Personally I think the renix was a more reliable engine than the HO. I'm not sure on the conversion info as I haven't done it yet, but I do know there are write ups out there, I've seen them. Best bet is to google Renix HO head conversion.
