So I may be moving back to San Diego and I have a question about passing emissions.. I have a 01 xj that did a head swap from the 0331 to the 0630 and to make it work I had to fab brackets for the coil rail and a adapter plate for the exhaust manifold.. So will I pass visual inspection with non oem parts on the engine? A friend said everything has to be like stock
They wont care. If a guy doesnt like it just go to a different shop. They do visual before the smog test and charge when the smog gets sent thru to the state. So if they give you crap just go to the next shop. They are everywhere here. The state only gets a report where the guy clicks yes or no on passing visual, no details. Good Luck.

As long as ALL of the factory installed emissions devices are there and functioning, and the vehicle passes the sniffer test, you will not have a problem.
