I have seen everyone on all the forums say you MUST use more than the 6 factory mounting bolts on front bumpers. Has anyone actually seen a bumper torn off in person? I went to the trouble of making 1/4 inch plates with 7 holes per side, is it really required? Please real accounts only, not I knew a guy or my brother in law said. Mods, was not sure where to put this.
The Chat Section would be the place to put this. My outlook on this is I think no one wants to find out if it will happen haha. My bumper has 7 per side, although mine is a winch bumper. I think you might be able to get by with 5 on each side if you just have to tow points and grade 8 bolts, but thats just my opinion. Better Safe than Sorry

Its not only so u dont rip ur bumper off, its so u don't rip the uni body, and to awnser ur question yes, bumpers get rippd off all the time, try search youtube for videos. using less holes MAY be ok for "light" recoverys but even still its pretty tricky. Its like a winch, just cause the rig weighs 4k doesnt mean u can use a 4k winch.... Theres other factors that come into effect
