I've never actually seen it done or anything but my buddy gave me the idea so I figured id see what you guys think! My rockers are rusted out pretty bad but the rust stops there so instead of replacing them with factory ones, could I get some like 2x5 or 2x6 rectangular tubing and weld in place? I know they wouldn't be the strongest but would surly be stronger then factory right? Or would it be better to just go with factory rockers?

I used 2x6 3/16s steel stock. Plated the unibody with 14g steel, braced the rockers to the unibody at 4 points each side with 1" x 1/8wall tubing, and they took a beating. Still looked great when I sold the first rig too.
It also opens up many more mods/armor as well like tube fenders, hybrid exo cages, and ect. If you wheel it go with the 2x6.
