ok so i have an '87 Cherokee and i noticed my brake light weren't working so i did some research and replaced the fuses, the bulbs, and the switch on the pedal. and i still have nothing. the tail lights work but i have no brake lights or hazards. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

 

Check to make sure your wiring is good. Loose connections means no power will get to them.

 

Signal relay? Mine went bad and hazards wouldn't work right and all kinds of fun happening with turn signals

 

I'm having the same problem and have yet to track down the source of my problems. Do you your turn signals work properly? If they dont there's a strong possibility that your turn signal switch is bad. Before that there are several other things you can check. Behind the drivers side rear quarter panel trim there are three connectors and a ground, clean the ground and check and clean the black connector. Do you have a trailer hook up? If you do you can trace the wires and see if any of them are frayed or anything. Also its worth checking to see if your bulbs are bad if you haven't already. I wish you luck in finding the problem.

 

i replaced the flasher and still have nothing. i have turn signals and running lights. im gonna trace the wiring now and ill let you know what happens thanks for the ideas.
