Default Borla, Magnaflow, Gibson Cat back Exhaust?

I'm looking to get an aftermarket exhaust. Those who already have, please chime in as to your preference. I'd like a throaty one. What is the best for sound, Gibson, Magnaflow, Borla??? I'd even consider flowmaster if it sounds good. Let me know. Thx

One thing that I tried too avoid when searching for my exhaust system was no droning at highway speeds. I can say with certainty that Magnaflow doesen't drone.

I have the borla and I dont really care for it. If my front left tire were to drop into a 5 foot hole the front drive shaft will hit it. It needs to be pushed over more torwards the oil pan. And not the best sound either.

i heart my gibson. Had it now for 5 years and never had any problems. The sound outside the jeep is very deep and a lil throaty (thats what she said). The thing that somewhat bugs me is that the muffler hangs down below the frame rails a teeny bit. The rear tip looks sweeet and the fitment is good.

Ive had a magnaflow as well and i was very pleased with it but if i did it again on an xj, id go gibson.

Thanks for the input. I guess I'm looking for the best sound, with as little cost as possible. We all know you don't get noticeable horsepower, so I'm just looking for that better sound. I'll look into Gibson and flowmaster.

The catalytic converter if you run your exhaust from the manifold to the muffler without the catalytic converter it makes it louder and I find it annoying on long trips. But if you like raiseing a little hell and pissing people off take the coverter off lol

Well, I think I'll rule out Borla and Magnaflow. I think I'm leaning towards Gibson, or Flowmaster's. So which one of these two is louder? Also, how much are flowmaster's usually?

Yeah, I called a flowmaster dealer today and the guy said he could install a Super 40 for $145. That sounds about right I guess. However, that is the cheapest exhaust I've ever heard of. It's just a muffler and tip right, so they are just adding it on to your exhisting exhaust correct?

So for those that have done this, is the sound noticeably beafier on a 4.0L?

I'm retared, it's just a muffler, no tip right? I've never liked the downward pointing stock exhaust tip. Do most muffler shops have a straight tip that can put on? What have other's done?
