Default boom goes the radiator

i was in a drive through when my radiator blows up the plastic tank on the side decided it dint want to hold antifreeze in it anymore but what puzzles me is why my antifreeze storage tank is still full could this be a failed thermostat and has this happened to anyone else thanks for the help

that's weird. maybe thermo stuck closed or something. that doesn't explain the pressure. My dad builds/repairs radiators and when he tests them, uses up to 35 psi which is was more than should be in there.

Holy run-on sentence Bat Man!!

End caps are known to go bad. Autopartswarehouse.com has a great deal on 3 core solid radiators if you have a promo code, i forget what it is tho. :/

Your system may have been fine, except for that seal, so I would just start with the radiator first.

Something else to keep in mind, if this is the Jeep in his info its an 88, and most likely not an open loop system.

May be a good idea to swap to an open loop style since you've gotta pull the rad anyway.

It is the 88 and Ira a pressurized system I believe when I pulled the coolant tubes off the rad today my inlet tube has antifreeze and my outlet was dryer then the Mojave I believe there is a clog somewhere and that my water pump just kept on pumping and then boom it blow up in the easiest spot by the drain plug on the inlet side and cracks all the way up the side of the rad
