So I want to Get rid of the annoying horn thats in the Heep right now, we all know which one im talking about. You honk at someone and it sounds like a tampon is stuck in there. Well id like to put a boat horn on it, i have two questions.
1. Could i wire it up to the stock horn buttons or would it be easier to wire them to a new button.
2. Where would i go about getting a cheap horn?
And to clarify i mean the really loud boat horns ( fog horns )

I think it would be hard to figure out how to mount it since its pretty big. You also have to run an air compressor and a decent size tank. You might want to look into a train horn instead. They sell kits for it that are complete and those are plenty loud. Id also keep the stock horn for inspection issues. I can see being hassled by the inspection station and police for having a horn thats too loud.

Well in that case to anwer your question you can wire it to the factory steering wheel button, you would have to find the correct wire and a solenoid that will work. Look into horn blasters on google. They have train horn kits. I think a boat horn is a bit too big but idk depends if you can find a mounting place, Im also not sure where to buy one. Id assume you could get one fairly easily but not sure of pice or where.

you can also piece together a AIR/Boat horn system for cheaper than what hornblasters.com sells them at.... A tip for the air compressor... check out local junk yards and find a caddy that had a air ride suspension. Take one of those compressors ($10) Im not sure how the rest of the wiring goes but if you get a compressor for 10 and a find a big F-ing horn... your almos there. Id caution you tho.... these loud horns are addicting and you can get some hefty fines for it. My cousin had one on his cummins and a cop heard him a half mile away, and busted him.... but there is nothing better than blowing it a group of girls and listen to the screams lol. good luck. google search DIY train horns er something

What about this http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...id=83148130810
Those are weak..... Its not even loud. hell you can get one of those at harbor freight like seriously. It sounds worse than the factory horn IMO. If you want a boat/train horn you have to get a real compressor and tank.

Hornblasters is crazy stupid expensive. No way on earth I'd pay $1,600 for a horn unless I was actually putting it in a train. I'd keep looking for something cheaper or piece your own together
Something like this?

i have a 135db single air horn that just has a small compressor and you connect it to the horn directly and if i can remember it was about 70 bucks i don't have it hooked up but we built up a compressor to 50 lbs and it was pretty loud i will be hooking it up soon you just have to hook it up to the fuse panel for the relay part of it i will take some pics of it in a few and post them. and the horn is stainless steel but the button is goofy big
