Default Blueprints for 89 xj bumpers.

Friend of mine he said if I get him the blueprints he will make a bumper for free. Just wondering if anyone can help me out like type of metal and how big of metal.

I know people use 1/4 for the frame tie-ins and that they use the steering box bolts and up to like 3 more further back. Then tie the d-ring mounts to the frame tie-ins. Other metal is usually 3/16 or 1/4 as well. good luck. and maybe he could make some for cheap for us if he is going to make yours for free!!

well he lives in Minnesota I'll ask him about it. He is usually very busy.

What are you looking to do on/for it, and what process does he use to weld?

Just basically install a winch and recovery points. I like the stock bumper and all but will rather put beefy bumper on it.

Thank you so much on that. It is a good start. Now which way will they be welded on? I don't want the mounts to be upside and the bumper will end up being mounted upside down

the angled part goes down and towards the rear. it matches the slope of the frame rail.
