Black strips on doors
I have a 98 Cherokee Sport.
The body has black strips that run along the side of the vehicle See picture attached as example).
The part of these strips that are on the side doors they are very worn out and they are coming off the vehicle.
What is the right denomination of these parts?
Where can I buy replacements?
Is there also an installation instructions/kit or a suggested glue to use?
Thanks!

imo, I would just mask them off and paint them, I did it to my rear trim above the license plate. My next step is to just paint them... it works out in 2 ways, one everything u take off of the Jeep doesnt want to go back where it came from. Secondly, you can get creative with your coloring like I did.

I took mine off as well. They are held on with 3M VHB tape which is a very high bond foam tape.I used a heat gun to warm up the part and just peel it off in by in.The tape can be a ***** to get off ,but heat and denatured alcohol work. You don't need a lot of heat to do the job, just real light or you will melt them.

if you really wish to keep them, take em off, buy some "BACK TO BLACK" http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcs...8_pri_larg.jpg do them up, and then buy some of that 3M foam tape mentioned above. dont forget to clean up the old with a plastic putty knife, and the denatured alcohol

If they are pulling away from the body, they will never lay flat again! 3M tape might hold them but not for long. Best bet is to pull 'em off and either leave off or buy new. If you take them off like me and others above, get a 3M pin stripe remover for the tape, works great (kinda like a big eraser for a drill).

i live in wisconsin and all these did were collect salt so i took mine off i got some flat black paint and made it look good that tape is a paint to get off with out scratching the paint but if you do get left over tape use lighter fluid and a microfiber it came off easy for me.
