Hmm interesting that they would only have a small number made if it was as good quality as everyone is saying

The 0331 is NOT a good quality head, which is why you should try to avoid it. Here's a break down by years available for XJ heads:

1987-90……2686 – A good casting used on RENIX 4.0′s. It’s strong but a little restrictive when compared to the 7120 and 0630.
1991-95……7120 – Strong, and better intake and exhaust flow ratings than the 2686. This is often considered the “performance head” for the 4.0 (not that’s a true performnace head, it just has the best flow ratings of all the 4.0 castings).
1996-99……0630 – Often considered the strongest of the 4.0 heads, however it does have slightly lower flow ratings than the 7120.
2000-01……0331 – Has a bad reputation for cracking at the #4 cylinder due to a lower casting strength, has a worse flow rating than the 0630, and often considered the worst of the 4.0 heads.
