Default Best Window Deflectors?

Hey folks, thinking about adding window deflectors to my '98 XJ Limited. Any advise on tape-on versus in channel? One company or brand better than others? Thanks in advance!

I have tape-ons on my 98, and they work great.

I bought in-channel for my wife's pathfinder and on 3/4 windows they're fine. On that 4th one, though, someone has to push it out while rolling up the window or else the window gets stuck.

I bought the AVS/Lund ones. Was a deal through Pep Boys awhile back. Had a Promo code and then there was a $20 rebate. Window deflectors and bug deflector cost $71 out the door after the rebate. I was OK with the price. Really did not want the bug deflector but figured what the hell. Then when I put it on I noticed it hid the top of my header panel. It wasn't in bad shape but.......... A couple guys have talked about the cheap Ebay ones in the past. Said they were pretty good and were pleased that the ones they ordered had 3M double sided tape on them.

Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it. I've heard the in channel style seem to stay on better but can interfere with the window operation . . .

So was the AVS/Lund set tape-on? How have they held up?

They are still on the Jeep. Thinking about 4 years now. I did see a picture of some that were bigger. Instead of attaching to the molding around the window they attached to the door more. I can see where that might be better for staying on. First shot is more like mine. Second and third of the bigger ones. The third shot appears to be these:

Amazon Amazon

These are all off a Google Image search.

Just the $5 automatic bay at the car wash in the winter. It is a sprayer deal so nothing but water actually touches the Jeep.

I have the steel in channel ones. I absolutely love them! Haven't had a single problem with them and I have not had any leaks because of them. Definetly happy with my purchase
