Best A/T tires?
I'm going to get new tires at the end of this month and want to get a/t ones.
I was thinking of getting BFGoodrich a/t tires.
anyone here use them?
also any other ones that you suggest?
was looking on tirerack and the survey said that firestone destinations a/t were the best (best reviews) anyone here use them also?

The BFG's are always a good choice. That's what I want for my Jeep once I save up the $$$$$$$$. They can take you anywhere but also feel really good just street driving. My buddy has some on his truck and loves 'em.

had them on my jeep and only reason i got rid of them was because someone with bfg mt's offered to straight up trade me.
I ran them all season here in MI, so lot of snow and ice and they seemed to do great except the one time where i locked up the brakes haha.
went to the dunes on lake michigan and they did perfect in the sand at about 8-10 psi. made it up test hill and everything and even pulled a few people out.
mud, ehh not the best, but like everyone says, leave mud to a MT. They werent completly terrible, but they didnt grip the best. there was some slick mud that i was going maybe 5-7mph in and trying to turn and it just wanted to keep going straight.
on the street, they did awesome, had no problems there at all. in rain on the street, never had any problems either. I do notice with my MT's they tend to break the back end loose a lot easier in the rain so im going to get them siped soon.
Hope this little review helps you out a bit. great tire overall, perfect for dd/weekend warrior.

i used to have hercules ats and i couldnt believe where those things went, theyve been up every trail locally in big bear and up a few trails in jonson valley and the tires were 450 new mounted and balanced with an alignment. if your strapped for cash id get those plus theyre quiet on the street.

Thanks for the tip sandaddik, I'll have to check those out. I really need new tires, my XJ deserves it big time.

Thanks for the reviews. So far i'm probably going to get the BFG. I heard that they hydroplane a lot though? From reading the reviews none of you had that problem but has anyone else here?

never had a problem with hydroplaning and i always hit big puddles and flooded parkinglots. treadwright also sells a cloned tread and depending on the size, you can get them under 100 each

50-60k for mileage on the General Grabber AT2's is common and there the exact same thing as the BFG AT's and less money.

I did about a months worth of tire research, as I'm planning on ordering a set of wheels/tires in the coming months, and my top two picks are below.
Kumho Road Venture AT KL78
or
General Grabber AT2 (as you can see, these are pretty popular)

yea I think I might go with the general grabbers. Since they will probably save me a good bit.
What good things have you heard about the kumho's? Any links you have that you used that i can read up on?

I have some kumho venture ATs on my DD jeep right now, and i can't recommend going the opposite direction enough.
maybe the ones i have are kind of old (they were on the jeep when i bought it), but they still have decent tread but are terrible. just yesterday I completely spun out making a slow normal turn when it was raining, almost got smacked up!
I'm getting some BFGs soon, I've heard many good things.
