Default being methodical...

man. it seems like everytime i get into a project with my jeep, i gotta remind myself to start basic. my most recent reminder:
for the past couple of months, there was this terrible grinding, rubbing type noise when in 4wd. it would happen in any 4wd setting (i have the np242) when accelerating. so i figured it was probably the transfer case. like the internal chain had stretched and was rubbing against the other internals.
then one day, after having to use 4 to get my coworker outta the mud, there was a noise and a clunk when just in 2wd. so know i was starting to question the TC. and sure enough, pull the front drive shaft and the problem completly clears up... glad i got the fixed yokes cuase i could still drive it w/o the DS. so for 85 bucks i fixed what was potentially going to cost arond 100-150, if not more..
