Beefy look?
Hey guys, i have been looking at lifts for quite some time now and honestly im lost. I have a stock 92 xj right now and I want to give it the "beefy" look but do i need a lift?
I don't plan on doing too much wheeling but i do want to get bigger tires maybe bfg all terrians or somthing and some new wheels to go along. I was looking at the RE 3.5 supperide but its like close to 400$ and i would still need to buy tires and wheels... I've heard some people talk about spacers and stuff but i still want the ride quality to be fairly good. Plus im on a high school budget so the cheaper the better as long as quality isnt too bad. Anyway just thought i would ask you guys. Thanks :001_unsure: |

3 inches isn't high...and 31s aren't big. If you want beefy go 5.5 re long arm and 33s...or better yet bushwhackers and 35s ;D

^What he said.
Find a used set of wheels on Jeepforum. People always post up barely used sets of wheels and tired mounted and balanced for a few hundred cheaper than what they paid originally. |

Do it yourself because its easy... esp at 3 inches... Use Craigslist for cheap tires and you can use stock wheels for a while... Theres nothing cheap about owning a jeep lol go to youtube and look up rough country tv and watch them install their lift

I have 1.75 spacers up front and a bastard pack out back with 33s and cut lots of fender looks beefy as hell and with wheels tires and suspension I'm only in it about 1200 bucks stock shocks no drive line vibes easy as pie

Mines fine... You can get nicer shocks or whatever to help but i think they are valved a little heavy for a stock XJ with nothing on it... ie they are great if your jeep has bumpers, sliders, winch etc... but mine is fine, lil harsher than stock but then again my stock shocks wouldnt push themselves back up when they were off

1. so 32x12.5"-33x12.5" mud tires (I scored a set of six 33's for $200. craigslist is awesome) 2. set of wheels with some back space (set of cragar soft 8's to your door for $250) 3. mount and balance (less than $80) 4. piece together an RE lift using some new parts and whatever you can find on CL or NAXJA I did 4.5" RE lift, shackle relocation, boomerangs, SYE, and 33" tires for about $1400 total. still gotta get myself some shocks though |
3" bushwackers and 33s on black steelies. Then you'll be beefy without having to do a suspension overhaul.
