That's a good price. What is it without labor!? And you can't go wrong with bds. if bds cost the same as RE or RC, 95% or the people on here would have bds. As far as ride quality goes, I've only seen one kit that come close and that's iron rock offroad's long arm kits which still are 1300$+ depending on the size! I'd say go for it!

I was looking into 2.5 or 3" lift kits for a 98 XJ and happened upon this thread.
I called the guy at Spicers Offroad and the BDS 3" kit with labor, tax, alignment, etc. is $1299.
This is with the full-leafs (Glide-Ride), quick disconnects for sway bars, new steering stabilizer, and BDS shocks (I think I may upgrade to the Fox shocks for $300 more).
Should I go ahead and add other things like the upper and lower control arms, SYE, etc? I was reading about driveline vibrations in 96+ being more of a problem when lifted because of the longer np242 transfer cases and the 8.25 long snout in some Cherokees.
I think he is gonna drop the transfer case (included in price) but I'm not 100% sure.
The Jeep I'm lifting has the np231 and Dana 35 so maybe I won't have any problems.
I don't do much wheeling, but I don't want to cut corners if I need other things to make it ride the smoothest I can and still be a good 3" lift with 31" tires.
He also told me that Fox bought out Bilstein. Is this true?
Thanks for any info.

Quick story...
So did I, and now all remaining of the used 4.5" BDS kit I purchased are the rear springs and shackles...everything else has been changed out to work with 6.5" of lift.
I stand by BDS stuff though... those springs mentioned above area still holding up since I used drop blocks at the shackles and lift blocks to get the additional 2"
