Default Automatcentral 100 watt light Review #2

Well, I got on the band wagon and ordered a set of these light to see how they perform and what they put out for light beams.

First off, let me just say that the price compared to quality is right on par. I was sceptical about plastic housing lights but they turned out to be made of very high quailty material and they even come with all mounting and wiring hardware, minus the 30 amp relay that I installed in the system. The shipping was fast, very well packed, and was in great shape when I picked it up at my door step the other night. Hell, I even got a wiring diagram LOL.

First thing was to make up my mind where to mount. After having the wife hold the lights everywhere I thought I wanted to mount them I decided on the good Ole faithful front bumper, one light on each side of the winch.

Once I decided on the place I started marking out where to drill the bumper. One thing I found out when mount is that the winch made the lights look of centered when mounted but thats just the way it looks with the winch being longer on one side than on the other. Once I marked and double checked my markings I let the wife drill so I had someone to blame it on if they did truely end up being off centered.

Here you can see the one side bracket mounted, Barely!! Sorry

Now that the base brackets were mounted and ready for the lights, we stepped up one step to get the wires in place before mounting the lights. This made it easier to wire the lights and not pull wires with the light in the way. I used 10 gauge from the battery + and - to the relay power in and from the relay power out and battery ground to the lights. I then ran the 12 gauge wire from the relay to the switch inside the cab, which was already install from previous planning. I have no pictures of the wiring but I figured nobody want to see a bunch of wires being ran throughout a jeep, we all do plenty of this on our own to look at someone else's wiring, right?

Here is what the final product looks like installed on the front bumper of my XJ.

And here you can see them lite up on the jeep. They are bright but I will post more pictures of them in the dark compared to my HID's on Hi and Low beam. They seemed to be a very long range light from what I see from adjusting them. They seem to have a very flat, long range reflectors inside, which is good for the driving and offroading that I do on a regular.Automatcentral 100 watt light Review #2-025.jpg

Over all I think that these lights are going to work out great for me and I got a neighbor that has a dune buggy that has already inquired about them when I got home last night. Should have gotten a few pictures last night but the Jack D. was flowing and we both got carried away in old wheeling stories, SO, keep an eye out and I will get some pictures of them lite up at night in the next few days.

Hell, for the price of the lights compared to some of the name brand high $$ lights, you cannot go wrong in my opinion. You can buy spares and have them on hand and still be ahead of the game compared to those other lights on the market.

This product gets from me and I'm going to order a set, or two for my MJ as well. Great deal and Great product!!

Sorry, HID's for the bumper lights...I have HID's in the headlights already!
Trying to match them so when they are both on the beams of lights are the same color.

Ok cool, I'd like to convert my hella 500s on my bumper to hid, but I'm not sure what all is entailed, still in the idea stage.
